Majira Wilds® was born from a simple belief:
beauty should leave the world better than it found it.
Inspired by the Swahili word Majira — meaning seasons — and the raw, organic elegance of the Wilds, we are a botanical lifestyle brand offering botanical art, heirlooms, and aromatics that honor all seasons of life. We create permanent botanicals, botanical art, and scent-infused goods that bring lasting softness, story, and intention into every space.
We lean into the elevation of life’s seasons, the ones worth celebrating and the tender ones too. Our heirlooms and art are made to mark a moment and be handed down for generations. Real-touch, handcrafted, and built to last long after fresh flowers would have faded.
Our Roots
Before there was Majira Wilds, there was Lucille’s Florist.
In the 1940s, Lucille Caines, our founder’s great-aunt, left Georgia during the Great Migration and made her home in Harlem. She married into the Caines family, whose roots run to St. Kitts and Nevis, and opened Lucille’s Florist, earning her the title of New York’s “Leading Lady Florist.”
In 1949, she was the only Black florist to compete at the Metropolitan Retail Florists Association conference, and she won. She accepted her award wearing a crown of 200 orchids. Lucille also gave back, supporting the NAACP and standing behind the Pullman porters as they organized the first Black labor union.
Nearly eighty years later, the Caines bloom continues. Born in the city where Lucille’s flowers flourished, our founder now carries that legacy forward in Atlanta, the soil Lucille came from. Her artistry, her courage, and her generosity live in everything we make and everything we give.

A legacy of giving. Lucille gave back to her community, and so do we. Through Giving Blooms by Majira Wilds®, a portion of every purchase brings handcrafted arrangements to care centers, hospitals, and hospice facilities, the spaces where fresh flowers are so often not allowed. Beauty can be both personal and shared, both held and given.
Our Founder, Kasema Caines-Johnson
Kasema’s journey with Majira Wilds® is rooted in a deep personal truth: every season of life deserves beauty, softness, and space to bloom. Born and raised in New York City, with family roots in St. Kitts and Nevis, she has called Atlanta home since 2002.
A creator, culture builder, and lifelong lover of nature’s poetry, Kasema handcrafts and curates every collection, blending artistry, cultural storytelling, and conscious living into every facet of the brand. For her, botanical design isn’t just décor. It’s reflection, restoration, and storytelling. Discovering Lucille’s story confirmed what she had always felt in her hands: the bloom is in her blood.
Her mission is to help others create spaces that feel whole, rooted, and reflective of the lives they’re growing into, and to honor the women who bloomed before her.
