Our Blooming Cactus Ornament brings a little Southwest warmth to the season. It's a round, potted cactus crowned with a single red star-shaped flower, hand-formed from upcycled magazines and coiled into swirls of green and blue. The pot below is wound from black-and-white printed pages, so you can still see a faint trace of the words it used to hold.
Each strip of reclaimed magazine paper is rolled and shaped by hand, then set into place one coil at a time, from the pot up to the flower's bright center. Because every piece is made from different printed materials, no two patterns repeat. No two grains match. Each one carries its own subtle story.
