Our Star Ornament is hand-formed from upcycled magazines into an open five-point star. Each point is outlined in coiled paper and filled with a loose, curling scroll, and a tightly wound violet spiral sits at the center. The reds, pinks, blues, and golds come from the printed pages themselves, so it catches the light like stained glass.
Each strip of reclaimed magazine paper is rolled and shaped by hand, then set into place one coil at a time, from the center out to the tip of each point. Because every piece is made from different printed materials, no two patterns repeat. No two grains match. Each one carries its own subtle story.
It’s made for the tree, but it doesn’t have to come down in January. Hang it in a window, from a cabinet knob or mirror frame, on a bare branch in a vase, or tie it onto a gift as a keepsake topper. It’s light enough for any hook and bright enough to leave up all year.
